Gigabyte released the details of it's latest innovation 'The Brix Mini PC'

Gigabyte has recently released details of a small form factor system that first appeared last month. The Brix Mini PC meaures just 1.2 "x 4.2" x 4.5 "and comes with your choice of Intel processor-class ultrabook Ivy Bridge with plenty of connectivity options.
The system is sold as a very basic configuration of memory, storage or operating system. What is included, however, is the aforementioned Ivy Bridge processor, Wi-Fi, Gigabyte Ethernet, HDMI, USB 3.0 and Mini DisplayPort. There is space inside mSATA drive and two DDR3 SO-DIMM slots.
We are told that Gigabyte will offer four different models Brix however, like writing, there are only three variants available on the website of the company. The GB-XM1-3537 is paired with a Core i7-3537U, the GB-XM11-3337 chips will come with Intel i5-3337U, while the GB-XM12-3227 will ship with a i3 processor low end-3227U .

A fourth configuration - GB-XM14-1037 - will be powered by a Celeron chip 1037U. The processors used in each of the four models are dual-core parts with a TDP of 17 watts, but the three that uses Core will have a total of four virtual cores thanks to Hyper-Threading technology. Moreover, only i5 and i7 models will be compatible with Turbo Boost technology. All configurations come equipped with a VESA mount so it can be mounted behind a monitor or HDTV, if desired.
No word yet on when it is expected that the new line will be released or how. Similar systems (but less powerful) Intel range from $ 165 to $ 330 in this field to any would be a safe bet.
