Panasonic has introduced a new bridge camera in its Lumix camera series FZ.
The FZ72 has a longer optical zoom of the world with an offer of 60 times, which is an equivalent of 20-1200mm in 35mm terms. At the end of wide angle lens, 20mm is about 140% larger than a standard 24mm lens provides.
Comprising 14 elements in 12 groups, including aspherical lenses with 6 aspherical surfaces 9 and 3 ED (Extra-low Dispersion), the target is small but Panasonic says it still give excellent results.
Intelligent Zoom and Intelligent Resolution are included to increase the zoom up to 120x equivalent. A 1.7x telephoto also sold separately to boost up 102x lens.
Other features include a new sensor of 16.1 million pixel MOS processing engine Venus, Light Speed AF and Power OIS (optical image and stabilizers) to provide correction of blur when shooting handheld or in low light .
Of course, it would not be a modern camera without video recording Full HD available on 60i, 50i and 25p.
Full manual control is available for advanced photographers, while a big fish is also included for connecting a wide range of optional accessories.
The Panasonic Lumix FZ72 will be available from the end of August, the price of the product yet to be confirmed.
